Anaheim Hills, CA- Slamtail Suspension, manufacturer of an entirely new and original product for Twin-Cam powered Harley-Davidson Softail models, has hired V-Twin Marketing (VTM) to assist with their marketing and distribution needs. This exciting product is unique because it uses a remote control key-fob to drive hydraulic rams (not air bags) attached to the OEM H-D springs and shock absorbers to raise and lower the bikes stance. Slamtail's Pat Pending technology is a highly engineered system that is manufactured from aircraft quality billet aluminum and alloys. It can lower a Softail from standard height to down near the bump-stops in only seconds.

Suspension engineer Ken Rutherford and the mastermind behind Slamtail Suspension says, "When we decided to bring Slamtail to the United States we needed someone with knowledge of and extensive contacts within the motorcycle industry so we turned to Joe and Rick at V-Twin Marketing. The dealer direct marketing program they offer their clients is exactly what I was looking for to get the word out about my product in an efficient cost effective manner."

Ken went on to add, "The after-market offers airbag type kits from numerous manufacturers that have varying degrees of quality and reliability, so I decided to design a hydraulically powered ram system that packaged neatly under the bike. A big advantage of this Slamtail system is the bike can be ridden at any ride height and still retain the OEM springing and damping.(Most Softail air systems don't have any hydraulic shock absorber, which can compromise ride, stability and safety). This required a lot of calculation and optimization including bench/rig loaded testing as well as extensive road and hot weather testing but I was able to make it work and Slamtail was born."

When installed the whole system is virtually invisible which is right in-line of the clean look Softail models are known for. "Ken has over 30 years experience as a design engineer including 10 years as a suspension engineer in Formula 1 racing and when looking at this product, it is obvious that his extensive knowledge and hard work has paid off giving all those Twin-Cam powered Softail owners who want that slammed hot rod look a totally new option," says Joe Knezevic, Vice President of Marketing at VTM. "I haven't seen any system on the market that uses hydraulics in the operation of raising and lowering a Softail and it was smart way to go because it won't lose pressure and can't leak down from the riders preferred stance, even after long rides or extended periods of storage. In addition it was a genius move to incorporate the stock OEM shocks in his design instead of discarding them since it allowed Ken to retain the ride feel of a stock Softail," concludes Joe.

Rick Raus, President of V-Twin Marketing stated, "I am very pleased that Slamtail has chosen V-Twin Marketing and I'm excited to be part of this product introduction to American consumers."
