This exciting product is unique because it uses a remote control key-fob to drive hydraulic rams (not air bags) attached to the OEM H-D springs and shock absorbers to raise and lower the bikes stance. Slamtail's Pat Pending technology is a highly engineered system that is manufactured from aircraft quality billet aluminum and alloys. It can lower a Softail from standard height to down near the bump-stops in only seconds.

A big advantage of this Slamtail system is the bike can be ridden at any ride height and still retain the OEM springing and damping.(Most Softail air systems don't have any hydraulic shock absorber, which can compromise ride, stability and safety). This required a lot of calculation and optimization including bench/rig loaded testing as well as extensive road and hot weather testing but I was able to make it work and Slamtail was born."

When installed the whole system is virtually invisible which is right in-line of the clean look Softail models are known for. "Ken has over 30 years experience as a design engineer including 10 years as a suspension engineer in Formula 1 racing and when looking at this product, it is obvious that his extensive knowledge and hard work has paid off giving all those Twin-Cam powered Softail owners who want that slammed hot rod look a totally new option," says Joe Knezevic, Vice President of Marketing at VTM.
